Overview:
This dynamic position is designed to cultivate a diverse finance experience, whereby the successful candidate will be exposed to a wide range of experiences within the Superior Aluminum Alloys division; including internal and external financial reporting, analytics, controllership and accounting, project management and process improvement.
The Accounting Supervisor will collaborate with the SAA Management Team and other SDI employees, both within and outside the division to fulfill responsibilities within these and other areas.
Responsibilities:
Supervise Payroll/HR, Accounts Payable and Accounts ReceivableParticipate in month-end accounting duties including, but not limited to, compiling divisional financial statements, ensuring proper cut-off for invoicing, preparing account reconciliations and journal entries, and assisting with forecastingValidate division-wide compliance with implemented policies and procedures and develop/enhance accounting policies and procedures, including process control mappingContinuously challenge/innovate the established close process and day-to-day operationsSpecial projects and additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelors Degree in AccountingAt least four (4) years of experience in related fieldRelevant core-competencies required:
time management, highly organized, project management and multi-tasking, applying effective analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and as a member of a team with excellent interpersonal skillsAbility to execute and follow-through to completion and documentationDedication to minor details and ensuring accuracy of all work productsExceptional and proven verbal and written communication skillsProficient with Microsoft products Preferred:
Certified Public Accountant in active status or intent to pass the CPA Exam within one (1) yearExperience with Microsoft Dynamics AX/365Experience with Power BIExperience with OneStream SoftwareExperience with month end closings and reconciling general ledger accounts Steel Dynamics, Inc.
